Successfully achieving Zero Accident or zero work accidents, 8 Palm Oil Mills (PKS) PT Sawit Sumbermas Sarana (SSMS) Group received the Zero Accident Award from the Manpower and Transmigration Office (Disnakertrans) of Central Kalimantan Province, on Monday, 13/02.2023.
The PKS that won the award were PKS Sulung, Selangkun, Natai Baru, Suayap, Nanga Kiu, Melata, Sumber Cahaya and Kanamit. The PKS is considered successful in implementing the Occupational Safety and Health System (K3) well and won the title of "zero accident" or zero accident along with dozens of other award-winning companies.
This award was received for the achievement of 6,888,698 hours (work) of production without injury, from January 1, 2020, to December 31, 2022. At that time, the award was handed over directly by Central Kalimantan Provincial Secretary Nuryakin to SSMS Management representatives in the yard of the Central Kalimantan Disnakertrans office.
Head of Sustainability SSMS, Henky Satrio W. expressed his gratitude to the Central Kalimantan Provincial Government for the appreciation given. This success cannot be separated from the commitment of all employees and company management to implement the K3 culture in carrying out every operational activity. "To achieve the zero-accident predicate, SSMS optimally carries out every procedure and stage of work carried out according to K3 rules and guidelines that apply to all entities involved in operations, ranging from employees, management, to partners," explained Henky Satrio Wibowo.
In addition, SSMS makes K3 a culture in every line through several activities such as socialization, Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Talk and regular inspections every week by the Sustainability Coordinator. This is to address the lack of understanding of employees regarding the risk of hazards while working.
Because compliance with K3 is not just meeting the requirements of the legislation, but it is a manifestation of moral responsibility as a company manager in providing protection for workers by providing a healthy and safe work environment.
