Strengthening Sustainable Palm Oil Commitment, Two Business Units SSMS are confirmed to receive ISPO certificates in 2022

PT Sawit Sumbermas Sarana Tbk. (SSMS Group) supports the Government of Indonesia's policy in order to strengthen Indonesia's sustainable palm oil standards in the world market through the implementation of ISPO certification.

Through its two business units, namely PT Menteng Kencana Mas and PT Mirza Pratama Putra, it is certain that SSMS will add the acquisition of ISPO certificates in the first semester of 2022. Previously, the two business units had completed a phase two audit in March - April 2022. Based on the assessment conducted by the Independent Certification Board of PT AJA Certification, no major category mismatch was found.

Head of Sustainability, Henky Satrio W. said that with the addition of the two certificates, SSMS has obtained 4 ISPO certificates, namely PT Tanjung Sawit Abadi, PT Sawit Multi Utama, PT Mirza Pratama Putra and Menteng Kencana Mas. "Currently 4 out of 7 SSMS business units have been CERTIFIED BY ISPO, the scope of this certification includes 4 oil palm mills and 16 plantations located in Lamandau and Pulang Pisau Regencies. While the other three business units are in the process of fulfilling the adequacy of stage 1 audit documents. The target is that 100% of business units can be audited for ISPO certification in 2022"

Henky also said that his party will take a role in accelerating the implementation of ISPO certification in Indonesia to be in line with the demands of the global sustainable development goals. "This step is a form of strengthening SSMS' commitment to improve more sustainable, responsible and environmentally friendly palm oil governance and improve the competitiveness of Indonesian palm oil both in the domestic market and the international market," he said.

For information, PT Mirza Pratama Putra and Menteng Kencana Mas will conduct Business and Human Rights certification in May 2022.
